  • Progressive side wagers: Casino games such as Caribbean Stud Poker often contain one of these. You usually put a wager ($1 is the usual amount) to attempt to win a bonus jackpot that could be upwards of $25,000. Although huge jackpots like this are very appealing, they’re also particularly hard to win. You might have to get a Royal Flush in order to succeed on this bet. Also, imagine this- you play 20 hands and make the side bet each time. That is 20 dollars you should have used towards the real game bet instead of a sucker bet. Imagine what you could have been able to win at a bet with greater odds using that $20.
  • Single number wagers in Roulette: This is completely true for American Roulette. Why? American Roulette has two 0’s on the wheel, unlike European Roulette, which has just one. This takes the complete casino advantage from two% with a single zero wheel to a whopping 5.26percent in American. The single number bet has only a one in 38 chance of succeeding, which are very long odds indeed. Try even-odd or black-red bets instead which have a much smaller casino advantage.
  • Keno: Any variation of Keno, and anyway you bet on it, the casino edge can be a huge 25%. Yes, that is not a error. Due to the large set of numbers you have to choose, it is not advisable to wager on Keno to often. A couple of times for fun, perhaps. But don’t waste all your cash on it or you’ll quickly find yourself broke.
